I am currently trying to fix the guitar again with a SD Vintage Jaguar PU and a mastery bridge. Over ten Years later i realized, that i actually like single coils alot more. I then made one huge mistake and put a Seymour Duncan SH-6 in the bridge, which seemd like a good idea back then, but really wasn´t. I bought my MIJ Jaguar 1999 mainly because it was looking great and everybody else was playing Les Pauls and SG´s which i didn´t like that much. I stuck with it for a year and a bit, I wasn't willing to pay for upgraded hardware which would have solved some of the issues, but would add nothing to its value so I traded up and bought a sunburst AVRI Jazzmaster which I can honestly say I will never part with - I absolutely love it, its tone, looks, the extra inch (let's face it, who doesn't want an extra inch), everything. I replaced the bridge and added a buzzstop, but nothing worked, it did my head in. I really only became aware of offsets through videos of Kurtz and Frusciante in the early '90s, thought they looked cool as frig.
